Rock & Republic Jeans authentication

There are so many fake jeans out there today. The big rule of thumb is if it is too hard to believe it probably is - don't buy it. Unless you are purchasing from a reputable company, expect it to be fake. People are selling fakes jeans online on ebay with Boutique tags. How hard is it really to put a store tag on a pair of jeans. Watch out!! Here are some ways to determine is Rock & Republic are fake :

Microstitching - Real authentic R&Rs have a silver microstitching stip on the size tag, inside this strip are numbers, you have to look really closely to see them, this normally means they are authentic but you do however on the odd occasion get a really good fake pair.

Due to the overwhelming amount of R&R fakes. R&R has changed their style tags several times. Old styles of R&R will only have one tag that includes the size and style number, some might be blue in color. Later styles include a style tag and size tag with microletters on a silver security strip.The newest styles (’07 and more current) have a style tag, size tag, and smaller authenticity tag with the R&R logo and with a serial number on the back. All tag styles have been faked so be careful!

Wash - You can normally tell the fakes a mile off, the washes are awful, they look cheap, grainy, uneven, rough, blotchy. etc.

Pockets - Watch for uneven pocket edges, the crown can be deceptively perfect but the pocket shape is always a dead giveaway. Shape of the Rs should be perfect. Many of the different styles of R&R have been reproduced so be very careful when purchasing.

Inseam - Authentic R&R inseams are normaly 34" or longer. Some of the older styles have inseams of 33 or occasionaly 32 but this is rare. The newer styles are always longer.

Stitching, crystals etc - Authentic R&Rs crystals are always neat, never outside of the lines and they use authentic swarovski crystals. Some of the better fakes look like they have perfect R’s but always take notice of ALL the details including the wash, shape of the pockets themselves and the inner tags.
